I am 65 years of age. I have been a truck driver for 17 years and an independent owner operator and broker for 15 years.
Approximately 3 years ago I was diagnosed with high blood pressure, It was not enough to keep me from driving, but close! It took about a year and half to bring down my blood pressure with the standard pharmaceutical medications. This was a wake up call! I started to learn as much as I could about diet to help keep my blood pressure stable and foods that would help keep my blood thinned out. I started out in the usual way cutting out sweets. I stopped drinking fruit juices. I started eating peanuts instead of chips, protein bars and granola bars instead of candy, and cottage cheese instead of yogurt. All with good intention but no real results. Sound familiar?
I weighed 236 lbs. At 6ft. 2in. tall. The ideal weight for my height for my height is 190 lbs. In my VA medical report I was described as " A 63 yr old obese white male". I was insulted and extremely mad to be described that way. I was a little overweight but I didn't like the term "obese". That was the changing point in my life. I got mad at myself and said, "That's it! TODAY I'm getting serious!" This is the same decision you must make to succeed.
My goal was to not only lose weight but to get my body back to where it was in my prime. I had to develop an exercise routine that anyone could do in the privacy of his or her truck with no exercise equipment, no running, not even walking at first. Something anyone could do anywhere. No treadmills, no portable exercise equipment, and no gym membership!
With only my bed and a small place in which to stand I went to work. I studied nutrition to make sure I was not vitamin or mineral deficient, and so I could curb my cravings for sweets. Next I attacked my diet (more about that later). Then I worked out a simple but very effective exercise routine which would literally exercise every muscle group in my body from the tips of my toes to the top of my head and only take about 45 minutes to do. All this can be done with the curtains closed in the privacy of your truck. Even in your underwear! Which, by the way, is how I got my nickname "The Underwear Guy"

I lost 31 lbs in 6 months. I leveled out at 204 lbs for a few months, never gained or lost. Good, but not good enough. Next I did a 30 day detox, recommended to me, to clean out my system, purge out any toxins, or poisons I may have stored up over the years. In 30 days I dropped a whopping 13 lbs! I now am at 191 lbs. Now I'm working on those 6 pack abs and a strong set of arms.
